.... is correct. I use Google Alert to keep me informed of new articles being posted, or if something has been uploaded that might refer to my business. Tonight two separate articles were posted about Virtual Assistants and both had very different charge rates listed. The American Chronicle's 'Virtual Assistants Offer Economic Advantages To Business Owners' outlined the advantages of using a VA and listed one set of suggested expected rates to pay. And on the other hand Paid Surveys Free.com … [Read more...]
VA Announcements – further info
After some thought and experimentation, I decided the best way to set this new site up is to make it a blog format. That way regular posters can register to become members (at no charge) of the site and submit their own posts whenever it suits them. So, if you have a VA event to list, why not head over there now to get started? KMT VA training, VA coaching, VA announcements, VA lists, VA forums … [Read more...]
VA Announcements
I notice on many of the VA forums that there are VA trainers and coaches, and other list owners, keen to promote the teleseminars, coaching sessions and other things they have happening and they want to let the VA community know. Some may feel they have a right to cross promote across the various lists as much as possible so they can get as many VAs involved as they can. Others might feel that it's not appropriate to do so on lists that aren't moderated or owned by them - personally I'm in the … [Read more...]
I joined a forum but I’m not getting their messages!
Does this sound like you? Have you wondered why that might be? The chat forums are a great way to learn about your industry, mix and mingle with other VAs (or whatever your industry might be) and pick up work. However, unless you monitor your membership with these forums, you may find you're missing out on information or worse still, a job referral! Because the forums have addresses that are used by hundreds of thousands of people, it also means that they have their fair share of spammers … [Read more...]
VA Coaching and Training
Some time ago I announced the coaching and training program I was developing for the industry. The program is now in place and we have our first set of students undergoing the course, currently in week 5. Lessons are delivered weekly via email over a 10 week period, and the students return their homework via email. We have fortnightly online classroom sessions where students can chat with each other, and ask questions of the past couple of weeks' lessons, etc. We also have a student forum … [Read more...]
New VA Education & Coaching Program now available!
Well, it's here! I've been developing an education and coaching program for virtual assistants over the past few months, well, since before Christmas. It's been on the drawing board for around 3-4 years and has been one of those projects that just kept being put aside. But time moves on and I get many requests seeking advice, help, support, mentoring, coaching, etc these days so I decided it was time I did something about it. Whilst there are a number of VA education and coaching programs … [Read more...]
Invitation to Virtual DiVAs Group H.U.G. (Help Us Grow)
I recently became a board member for a new group for Virtual Assistants. This group was developed for a very different reason to the existing forums. It is recognised that there is a downside to working at home - and that is the lack of exercise and increased tendency to just snack through the day. If you have been a Virtual Assistant for more than 6 months you'll know what I'm talking about. I love being at home and wouldn't swap it for anything but I have to admit that I have definitely put … [Read more...]
OIVAC – Over until next year!
Well the first Online International Virtual Assistants Convention has finished. The booths for the Trade Expo will be open till end June I believe. The seminars, if you registered for them, are available to log into and listen to still - if you didn't get to the presentation at the time it was running. But basically it is over until next year. Mark it in your computer calendar - 3rd Friday in May is now officially International Virtual Assistants Day and hopefully we'll start seeing this … [Read more...]
Have You Been Yet?
To the Online International Virtual Assistants Convention. There are paid sessions and free sessions so you would be most welcome to come along and visit! Readers of this blog will know by now that I was nominated for an award - I didn't win it but I was given the wonderful honour of being the Master of Ceremonies for that event after it became evident (to the steering committee) that the winner was the lady who was originally planned to be the MC. So the reigns were handed to me and I spent … [Read more...]
