Well, the first day of the OIVAC is over and what a great time we had. Fantastic speakers, great information, and lots of networking and discussion. It was good to see some new names amongst the networkers and I enjoyed the presentations. If you haven't been along yet you are really missing something. And especially so, if you have not yet participated in an online virtual expo and conference. So, why not head over there now and visit the exhibition hall and trade booths? Bookings for the … [Read more...]
5 Top Ways to Use a VA
All small business owners know how tough it can be, trying to wear every hat in their business and keep balance at the same time. That's why they need support and who better than a Virtual Assistant - their own personal support? 1. Screen, forward and action your email. A number of my clients have an admin email address for my use and a lot of their email, bookings and registrations, sales and enquiries are all sent to this address. I respond accordingly and forward what requires the client's … [Read more...]
Have you registered yet for the OIVAC?
The Online International Virtual Assistants Convention is at the end of next week. I can't believe it's almost a year since our very first one! That time has passed so quickly. There is so much to learn and benefit from attending an event such as this and although it's for the VA industry, anyone with an interest in the technology and the subjects are welcome to book for the seminars. We have 23 speakers from several countries speaking and believe me, it was fun putting the line up together as … [Read more...]
Reader’s Digest article about VAs
Recently I've had a number of people in the US fill out the form on my VA Trainer website and in the 'where did you find us' field they entered 'magazine' or 'Reader's Digest'. I wasn't aware a new article had come out about my business so went in search of the article to find out what it was all about. The article had escaped my radar! It was, in fact, an article about ways to earn money at home and they profiled the VA industry, and interviewed Diana Ennen in the process. Congratulations … [Read more...]
The VA Blogging Tour Goes Down Under
Hi Kathie, This is my first stop “down under†and I am honored to be a guest at your blog. I know I will have a great time visiting all my Australian VA associates during this drive to promote the VA industry and leading up to our Online International Virtual Assistants Convention (OIVAC). So Kathie, what do you have in store for me? 1. How do you know if a VA is brand new or experienced? I have to think deeply about this question. My initial response is: a) If a VA has difficulty … [Read more...]
Ultimate Aussie Blogroll Top 100
A year ago I saw a post on Duncan Riley's blog about the A-list of Australian bloggers and he talked about the lack of Australians in the top 100. He started to mention bloggers he thought could be on that list. I came across the post and made a comment that there were no women on that list but that I planned to be on it. A couple of other women also posted similar comments. Well, this morning I see that Des Walsh has a new post referring to a list of the Top 100 Australian bloggers (on Craig … [Read more...]

Participants who solve the puzzle at the conclusion of the tour will be eligible for prizes donated by Virtual Assistants and other industry supporting businesses. The Tour starts April 1 — no fooling. … [Read more...]
A Client Has Asked Me To Do Something I Haven’t Before – Should I?
I guess one of the key things here is - is the client brand new or is the client an existing one asking their VA to provide another service? The answer to this question may give a clue to what should be done. I wouldn't start providing a service I know nothing about for a brand new client as it's bound to get me in hot water and it is best onforwarded or sub-contracted to another VA who already knows how to do that particular item. However, if it's an existing client that I've been … [Read more...]
