Always moving onto the next thing…

Have you found that?  It’s only April and so far this year I’ve organised and run a Conference for the VA industry (with help of course).  The lead up and the wrap of the event, not to mention attending it, tended to take away time from working with clients.  I did let them know in advance and organised help for them in my ‘absence’.

I hosted a US delegate for the conference in my home and took her to see some Australian countryside and wildlife the day before the conference started.

Only a few weeks later I took off for a week’s leave with my husband. He’s currently home on holidays.  So once again I let clients know I wouldn’t be around for a week – most important to keep them in the picture.  It has been nearly 2 years since my last holiday which was in Canada, so I’ve been around for clients a good amount of time.

Easter is now just down the end of the week – another time of public holidays and time with family.

And then I have an exhibition coming up in May. Not related to my VA business at all, however I can use skills I’ve developed through my VA activities to ensure the exhibition works.  I’ve been involved in event and conference planning for many years, and although it’s not something I want to do fulltime, it is something I do enjoy as each event comes along.

The exhibition is for my passion which takes up a lot of my time outside of working hours.  Now the children have grown up and I am not needed to run them around anymore my time has been freed up for hobbies and things that interest me.  For a few years I was writing and published some books but now photography takes me outside to enjoy nature first hand.

If you’re in Victoria during the period of 10 May – 5 June, why not pop up to Kallista to view my photography at the Kallista Tea Rooms?  Official opening is from 6pm – 9pm Friday 13 May but you can go along any other time.  Wednesdays they are closed and the rest of the time open from 8am to 5pm.

In the meantime, do you have something you enjoy doing outside of being a Virtual Assistant? It is important you have some time of refreshment and renewal and hobbies and passions certainly assist with this.  And if you’re like me it might mean that you’re always moving onto the next thing…
