Empress of Order was born in 2018 when I made the decision to leave a senior role in my corporate nine to five to get more balance in my life. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but it’s the truth. As well as being just a number in a huge corporation, I spent around eight hours a week travelling to and from the city and I wanted that time back.
I decided to purposely seek out the flexible lifestyle that comes with being a Virtual Assistant.
I’ve spent most of my career in administration – firstly in construction, then someone else’s small business, mining, aviation and finally oil & gas. During my working career I’ve been fortunate enough to learn a wide range of skills and built experience in all aspects of administration, reporting, communications, procedures and safety.
Although I’m originally from Scotland, I’ve been living and working in WA for over two decades. I’m now a West Australian small business owner myself, so I understand how we do business here. Using a WA based service means that we’re operating in the same time zone and speaking the same language.
In addition to this, I’m obsessed with detail. I love organisation, order and making life easier for my clients. I get a kick out of a well-executed spreadsheet or a beautiful presentation, and I’m well known for producing work to a high standard, even under pressure. I’m also a confident communicator, and I understand that you’re busy running your business, so I’ll always keep communications at a level that’s comfortable for you.
Belbin testing proves that I’m a ‘completer finisher’ and we are often described as painstaking, orderly, conscientious, detail people. Completer finishers have a great capacityfor follow through and wouldn’t normally start something they couldn’t finish.
