Profiling you.... the client

Recently one of my team members wrote to me saying she'd learnt of a group I was working with through a newsletter she had received from someone else (shows the power of newsletters). She wanted to know more about that particular group and commented she didn't know I was connected with them...  That led me to think that is probably the case for most of you - and in reverse you for me. So I thought it might be nice to end the year by profiling some of the people or groups I work with - because they might provide you with something you need if you only knew they existed or how to contact them.

 ====================================================

The Australia Southern Africa Business Council (ASABC) is a national, non-profit business association established to represent the interests of its members in commercial and trade matters between Australia and the countries of Southern Africa.

Membership is diverse and includes many well known public companies, professional service firms and small and medium sized business, as well as many individuals.  The ASABC is the pre-eminent business association promoting trade, investment and business links between Australia and Southern Africa.

It was this particular group the member was interested in because of her background - it just hadn't occurred to me to promote this group to people I work with and know.

The Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine (ANZSPM) is a society whose members come from many different medical backgrounds but who are united by their intense interest in the medical challenges of caring for patients and their carers referred for Palliative Care.

The society's aims are to provide professional support and fellowship for medical practitioners working in Palliative Care. They acknowledge their multidisciplinary team colleagues who come from the nursing and allied health professions, as well as their volunteer colleagues. The Society meets biennially for a scientific conference and has a quarterly newsletter.

The Office Organiser.  Lorraine established her business, The Office Organiser in 1995. Having spent many years successfully working in small business, she recognised that many people were spending their precious time being busy, yet not very productive. She found that most people were too busy being busy. Although they say wanted more time for themselves and their families, needed to be healthier and wanted to improve their financial situation, their actions reflect something totally different. They spent most of their waking hours at work, leaving minimal time to achieve their own personal goals.

With her experience and practical solutions, Lorraine can help anyone who seriously wants to get organised and have more balance in their lives, achieve greater productivity and experience increases in profit.

Paddy SprucePaddy has the unique ability to educate, inform, entertain and inspire. He has been in the business of creating exceptional people for over twenty years.

Would you like to be able to increase your influencing skills, reduce conflict, improve teamwork, send morale soaring, create more delighted customers and enjoy your work more?

Paddy works nationally and internationally. He works with Australia’s biggest and best. His training and speaking methods include humour, interactive exercises, role plays, quizzes, discussions, inspiring lectures... in fact anything that works to build your people and your business... and make the experience enjoyable.

These are just a sample of the types of clients I, and my team, provide support for.  And the industries are varied, including legal, medical, building, engineering, public speakers, trainers, consultants and the list goes on.

Who do you work with?
It's possible that you too, work with people or groups that would be useful for us to hear or know about and if you would like to tell me about them, please do send me an email - networking, and word-of-mouth are two of the best ways of developing strong business and working relationships and a good way to get to know who is out there and what is available.  It's always good to hear who knows who........... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

With this last newsletter for the year, I'd like to wish you a safe and happy holiday period over Christmas and the New Year.  Take time out, if you can, to plan for 2005 and take stock of the successes you had for this year and how you'd like to build on them for the year to come.

Do take time for family and friends as they are a precious commodity in this day and age where people seem to be more isolated than ever, despite the technology and transport means we have available to us. And part of the reason for that isolation (I feel) is because we all lead such busy lives and forget to stop and 'smell the roses'. Before we know it 'Auntie Dot' is 90 and no longer able to travel in our direction and we wonder where those years went to?

Are you a keen gardener?  Would you like to plan your garden on the computer and see what it would look like before you put the work in?  Then try Garden Composer!  I was given this for my birthday a couple of months ago and whilst I haven't yet fully explored the program I've seen enough to know that this would be an exciting addition to any gardener's library.

About Our Organisation

What is a Virtual Assistant?
It's a term for home-based secretaries, administrative and secretarial support, and others who supply remote or virtual support.

We are as close to you as your computer and can do almost anything traditional support staff do - except virtually. You don't need to provide office space, equipment, software or furniture - we have our own!

Location no issue as the work is carried out 'virtually' no matter where you are!  See our newest members listed at VA Directory

And please note, we have a new office phone number - please update your records.
